Side Vacuum Venting Systems

Introduction

Side Vacuum Venting Systems are designed to efficiently remove air, moisture, volatile compounds (VOCs), and low-molecular-weight gases from polymer melts during twin-screw extrusion. Installed at the venting section of the extruder, these systems create a stable vacuum environment that enhances devolatilization efficiency while preventing material carry-over and maintaining continuous production.

Engineered for modular co-rotating twin-screw extruders, Side Vacuum Venting Systems improve melt quality, reduce processing defects, and enhance overall extrusion performance. They are widely used in engineering plastics, recycled materials, high-filled compounds, and reactive extrusion processes where effective degassing is essential for producing high-quality finished products.

Overview

During polymer compounding and extrusion, residual moisture, entrapped air, reaction by-products, and volatile substances can negatively affect product quality and process stability. Side Vacuum Venting Systems provide an efficient devolatilization solution by combining vacuum extraction with gas-solid separation technology, allowing gases to be removed without interrupting material conveying.The modular twin-screw conveying structure, together with an optimized cooling channel design, ensures stable vacuum performance, minimizes material backflow, and improves the flexibility and adaptability of the extrusion process across a wide range of materials and production capacities.
